A huge thanks to all who donated to the Fund!

UPDATE:  The Folk in Crisis Fund is being wound up in January 2021.

The remaining funds are being used to help finance a concert The New Tradition: Rejuvenation at Celtic Connections.

The concert is being held on Saturday 22nd January 2022 at 1.00 pm in the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, Strathclyde Suite (tickets - £14.50)

Lockdown has not been easy for musicians and younger musicians in particular have not had the opportunities to get out and play and try new ideas after finishing their various qualifications.

Hands Up for Trad, Stonehaven Folk Club and Celtic Connections have come together to give an opportunity to seven young musicians to make a new piece of music. They can take pieces from the tradition or write new music - it’s up to them! The music will be performed by a band of their peers and the musical director is pianist Rory Matheson. It will be a great concert from the next generation of musicians, including:

Ailis Sutherland

Cameron Nixon

Chloë Bryce

Ellie McLaren

Evie Waddell

Isla Callister

John Dew
